For bicycle shops

Your shop stays in the bicycle’s history

File the serial when you sell it. Owners change. The shop that filed the bicycle stays on the record. A record filed by the shop is free, and the bicycle is placed on the buyer’s account at no charge.

The shop remains after the sale

When the sale is recorded, the bicycle leaves the showroom and sits on the buyer’s account. A later owner can claim it again. The shop that filed the serial stays in the history of that bicycle.

What else the shop gets

A shop record is free

Every bicycle the shop files is free. Enter the serial number. No receipt is required.

The buyer is not charged

The bicycle is placed on the buyer’s account. That person pays nothing. A later change of owner costs the next person $1.99.

Stolen lists are checked first

The serial is checked on Bike Index and 529 Garage. A stolen listing is held for review and stays off the public lookup.

The next buyer can look it up

A public check shows the make, model, year, color, and status. It does not show the owner’s name.

The shop owner keeps a sales list

After the sale, the bicycle leaves the showroom. The owner sees the sale date, the bicycle, and the serial.

Staff can file the sale

The owner creates employee logins. Employees can register the sale. They do not see the sales list.

How a sale is filed

  1. Step 1

    Register the shop

Create a dealer account, then send the shop name, address, and documents. TitleVelo approves the shop before it can file.

  2. Step 2

Enter the serial at the sale

Record the bicycle and the buyer. A clear check places the bicycle on the buyer’s account.

  3. Step 3

    The buyer opens the account

TitleVelo emails the buyer. A new buyer enters the code and creates a password. The bicycle is already in their garage, and your shop stays in its history.

What it costs

  • A record filed by the shopFree
  • The bicycle is placed on the buyer’s accountFree
  • A later transfer, paid by the person who accepts it$1.99

The shop does not pay to file a bicycle. The $1.99 is only for a later owner who accepts a transfer.
